Licensing Commission · Meeting of August 13, 2026

CHELSEA — The Chelsea Licensing Commission disciplined three bars and approved two new licenses during a marathon Thursday hearing. Commissioners rolled back hours and suspended Bridge Liquors, King Tacos and Rancho Las Papusas after police reports detailed overservice to an intoxicated customer, service to a minor during a bar brawl, and staff drinking on duty. King Tacos, cited for serving alcohol to an underage patron during a May altercation, received a 20-day suspension with five days served August 25-29 and 15 days held in abeyance for two years.

Attorney Jeffrey Rosario Turco said the bartender who failed to check the patron's ID "was fired as soon as my client figured out who served him." Chairperson Marnie MacAlpine called a separate drunk-driving arrest tied to Rancho Las Papusas "completely unbelievable." The commission also approved a new full liquor license for Los Amigos Diner, pending a police inspection, and an amended entertainment license for Michael G's Trattoria to add a DJ and karaoke.
